Entrants must be registered by 5:30 on Saturday, September 30, 2009.
Entry Fee is as follows: $10.00 until July 1, 2009 $15.00 until Sept 1, 2009 $50.00 after Sept 1, 2009 Free Entry for children **** see rule 4
All children who enter will receive a non cash prize. Sign up MUST be by October 1 to qualify for non cash prize. However, to be eligible as cash winner, entry fee as stated above must be paid.
Cash prize winner names and pumpkin sizes will be announced in the newspaper.
Cash Prizes will be awarded to top 3 entrants of Weigh-Off as follows: 1st Place $500 2nd Place $250 3rd Place $125
1st Place Winner’s name will be entered on the Traveling Pumpkin Trophy.
The specimen must be grown, cared for and exhibited by the entrant. Any specimen previously entered or weighed at any other National or International competition prior to the contest is not eligible for competition
A carrying device can not be included in the total weight of the exhibit.
Foreign substances may not be included in the weighing. The judges reserve the right to examine and x-ray the specimen.
The pumpkin must be healthy and undamaged. The exhibit must be capable of maintaining its form as a pumpkin for the duration of the celebration event.
The vine must be trimmed within one inch from the stem of the exhibit.
Weights will be recorded in ½ pound increments (rounded down to the nearest ½ pound).
All decisions of the judges are final.
In event of tie, prize money for 1st will be divided equally.
