The TALL Tales Contest creates the opportunity for original, highly improbable, and humorous stories.
Contest Guidelines
To register be at the Tall Tales Arena by 1:15 PM. The contest will start at 1:30 PM promptly. The subject of the Tall Tales story shall be selected by the contestant. However, the subject should be in good taste. The committee reserves the right to disqualify the entrant or stop the speech if deemed inappropriate.
Contestants must prepare their own 3-5 minute story, which must be substantially original. Any quoted material must be so identified during the story presentation.
The story must be of a highly exaggerated, improbable nature and have a theme or plot. Humor and props may be used to support or illustrate the story.
All contestants will speak from the same platform or area designated by the contest chairman with prior knowledge of all the judges.
Each contestant will announce their name and story title. Stories less than 2-1/2 minutes or over 5 minutes will be disqualified.
There will be one minute of silence between contestants, during which the judges will fill out their ballots.
All decisions of the judges are final.
Winners in the Adult Category and the Youth Category (ages 10-17) will be announced at the awards ceremony at 3:00 PM. Winners will re-tell their story on Main Stage.
